With school starting on Monday our summer is coming to an end.
We have been blessed to have a busy and fun summer and so I wanted to capture that on our blog.
Our Summer In Review
Pumpkin attended “Fairy Princess Dance Camp” for 5 weeks. She learned ballet, creative dance and tap. I think ballet was her favorite —she told the teacher the tapping was “too loud”.
So, our little Pumpkin will resume ballet lessons in the fall. We wouldn’t want her getting a headache from tapping too loudly!
G-Man and Bear attended 3 weeks of camps. They went to art camp, a PE camp, and a nature camp. I am always impressed at the art they bring back from their art camp. The instructor really takes the time to talk to them about the artists, their various works and then the children attempt to apply the technique of that particular artist to their own creations. I am hoping we can find a way to s-q-u-e-e-z-e in art lessons during the school year. If not, I have already decided to enroll them for 2 or 3 weeks next summer since it is by far one of their most favorite camps that they attend.

Another fun thing we did this summer, was have a reptile and bug show come to the house. I usually bring in a hands on show like this about 3 times per year. Sometimes we invite our homeschool group to join us, and all of the moms chip in to pay for it. This time it was just us, but we had a blast. It’s a great learning opportunity for the kids and a great deal of fun.
Few can say they’ve had a Florida Panther in their backyard and an alligator pee on their family room floor!
