I admit that I’ve never had a love affair with math. In fact, I’m sure my track record with mathematics in school is the first thing family members think about when they hear I’m homeschooling our children. Well, I can tell you that my infamous track record has made me a more diligent math teacher because I know all too well how it feels to “not get it” and I never want my children to give up on themselves with mathematics the way I did—before I found a kind teacher named Mr. Pryor in the 9th grade and received my first (and last) A in mathematics.
