November 15-21st marks National Geography Awareness week. Interestingly enough our homeschool group started our geography co-op on the continents this week as well.
Today we studied the continent of Africa.
We had two instructors for this study and we began with a story, discussion, listened to African music and explored a learning table with various items from or related to the continent of Africa.
Our hands-on activity was working on a map of the continent of Africa.
This map shows the desert, Nile River, Victoria Falls, Mount Kilimanjaro and the Savannah.
Can you find them? I thought this was a clever way to teach this to young elementary students.
