Today the kids worked on an Indian Corn Craft Project while I worked on our Thanksgiving feast. Apparently, we school year round and on holidays!
This was a great craft to get some scissor practice in. I confess I’m not always good about giving the children an opportunity to use scissors regularly, yet it is so important for building up their hand muscles for writing development. The muscles that are needed in a mature tripod grasp are the same ones that are exercised when cutting.
Although the boys are older this is still an important exercise for them and even more important for Pumpkin who is only just beginning to start using the proper pencil grip. (We still need to work on proper glue grip!)
The best part is that I can count this as a fall craft and it kept everyone busy!
Happy Thanksgiving!
