July 20, 2009 marked the 40th anniversary since man first landed on the moon. So, what better time to study the moon? We found some excellent ideas and resources in the July/August 2009 edition of Humpty Dumpty magazine.
To help illustrate the phases of the moon we created a moon phase book adapted from these directions and an animated moon flip book.
We are also tracking the moon on a calendar and participating in Skywatch Friday.
You can visit MoonConnection.com to see the current moon phase based on your local time and hemisphere.

The moon is a fun study year round! Hard to believe that it has been 40 years since that first landing!
