Today we mixed our Read-aloud time with our craft/art time. In planning our new school year I wanted to make sure that we got back to doing daily art projects because its so important for fine motor skills & creativity. Before beginning this project we read, The Mixed up Chameleon by Eric Carle and A color of his own by Leo Lionni.
This art project also serves as an introduction to the resist method. The instructions and template for this project can be found at Art Projects for Kids.
Additional online resources & lesson plans:
Water color crayon resist
Underwater sea turtle resist

Great Chameleons! I love how each one shows the special talents and personalities of each child.
They are all so beautiful. Water colours are so amazing and each and every real chameleon changes colour differently. simply stunning!
